A zero-plastic concept · Open for licensing

CLEAN HAIR.CLEAN CONSCIENCE.

A bar of soap that holds its own shampoo. The soap is the container, so there is no plastic bottle at all. We designed it, and we are looking for the right partner to bring it to market.

A bottle that is used up, not thrown out.

The soap shell becomes your body wash. The shampoo core becomes your hair wash. The cork goes back to the soil.

Zero plastic

Where the plastic goes. And where it doesn't.

Most of the plastic in a shower is not the product. It is the bottle, the cap, the pump and the wrap around it. LONO removes the container by making the soap itself the container.

Just the product

  • Shampoo held inside the soap shellNo container
  • Natural cork sealPlant-based
  • Paper and card packagingNo plastic
  • Soap shell works as the body wash2 in 1
  • When it's finishedNothing left

The soap is the bottle

A solid shell holds the liquid shampoo. No separate container is needed.

Sealed with cork

The pour point is closed with natural cork instead of a plastic cap or pump.

Used up completely

As the shell wears down, the shampoo is finished too. There is nothing to recycle and nothing to bin.

Materials shown are the concept design and will be confirmed with a manufacturing partner.

How it works

Four steps. No bottles left over.

LONO is the container and the product at the same time, so using it is the same as using it up.

  1. Wet the shell

Run it under the shower for a few seconds. The soap walls start to lather straight away.

  2. Wash your body

Use it like a bar. Its flat faces sit well in your palm and don't roll off the dish.

  3. Pour the core

Lift the cork and pour a coin-sized amount of shampoo. Close it before you set it down.

  4. Let it dry

Keep it on a draining dish, away from the stream. A dry bar lasts longer.

The idea

Why does a bar of soap need a plastic bottle of shampoo sitting next to it?

That question started LONO. Most showers end the same way: a soap bar on the dish and a plastic bottle on the shelf that will outlive everyone who used it.

So we put the shampoo inside the soap. The shell does the work of a body wash and the work of a container. When you finish one, you have finished both.

LONO is an original concept from a small team in India. We have designed the form and proven the idea in prototypes. Now we are looking for a brand or manufacturer to take it into production.

Impact per household

What one home keeps out of the bin.

Set up a household and see how much shampoo packaging LONO replaces. We show a range, because real use varies.

4
3
1
Shampoo is usually bought in
10.4–20.8
shampoo bottles avoided
0.3–0.8
kg of plastic kept out

If the household also uses bottled body wash, LONO replaces that too, so the real saving is higher.

How we calculate this
  1. 4 people × 3 hair washes a week × 52 weeks × 1 year = 624 washes
  2. One 300 ml bottle lasts 30–60 washes, so that is 10.4–20.8 bottles
  3. An empty bottle and cap weigh about 25–40 g, so 0.3–0.8 kg of plastic
  4. These are placeholder assumptions. They will be replaced with measured figures.
License the concept

Bring LONO to market with us.

We are not selling LONO to customers ourselves. We are offering the concept to a partner who can produce and sell it at scale.

Questions

Questions from partners.

Anything else, write to us below. The founders reply personally.

Is LONO for sale?

Not to customers directly. LONO is a concept we are offering to a brand or manufacturer through licensing, a partnership, or an outright sale of the concept.

What exactly does a partner get?

The concept and design, our renders and prototype findings, and optionally the LONO name and logo. The details depend on the kind of agreement.

Can the colours, scents and size be changed?

Yes. The pictures are concept renders. A partner can adapt colour, fragrance, formula and size to fit their brand and market.

Has it been made at scale?

Not yet. It exists as a design and prototypes. Moving to mass production is the step we want to take with a partner.

Is the design protected?

Ask us about IP status when you get in touch. We share detailed designs only under an NDA.

Why does it matter that it's zero plastic?

Shampoo is one of the most common sources of bathroom plastic, from bottles to single-use sachets. LONO removes the container entirely, which is a clear story for brands working on plastic reduction.
